Chapel Hill Historical Society will unveil the second class of its "Town Treasures" commermorations. Town Treasures are outstanding senior citizens who have made and or documneted Chapel Hill Carrboro history. Thier contributuions and examples help us to link the past with the present. Award-winning local photographer Catharine Carter has once again photographed 12 individuals and or couples. The recognition of Town Treasures is an annual program of the Historical Society and will be exhibited at the Chapel Hill Museum, acknowledging gratefully the contributions that so many individuals make to our community through long years of extraordinary service. Dean Smith, Howard and Lillian Lee, and Sandy McClamroch are Town Treasures being honored this year, to name but a few. An opening reception will be held Thursday, Oct. 15 from 5:30 to 7:30 at the Chapel Hill Museum--523 E. Franklin St. Call 967-1400 for details.
