CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -

Officials with the Town of Chapel Hill say Tropical Storm Hanna has caused minimal problems for the area.

Only a few minor power outages have been reported and all traffic signals are operating, according to a press release from the Town.

Low lying areas in South Estes area began to flood around 4:15 a.m. The area included Brookwood, Camelot and Ridgefield.

Police activated the "Code Red" system to alert residents in areas of flooding to suggest residents move their cars and consider relocating.

No residents have taken advantage of the shelter at Smith Middle School.

Town officials say Umstead Drive is flooded and barricaded off and there is about six to eight inches of water across Weaver Dairy Road at Kingsmill Apartments. There are reports of a tree on a house at Summerfield Crossing. No injuries have been reported.
