One-year grants will be awarded from monies collected by the 1 percent prepared food tax. Applications must be received by 3 p.m. April 17.

Criteria in evaluating grant proposals include:

• Will it result in increased spending by visitors in Hillsborough?
• Will it promote tourism through a new or innovative facility, program or activity?
• Will it emphasize cooperative ventures or collaboration among organizations or individuals?
• Is it feasible or sustainable beyond the grant period?
