Carrboro apartment community, Poplar Place Apartments, is hosting it's 2nd Annual Food Drive to benefit the Interfaith Council in downtown Carrboro.

Community residents are encourge to kick off the event by bringing food and toiletry items to the Poplar Place management office during Resident Appreciation week (November 1—November 7). For each item donated residents will earn a chance to win $100 off their December 2009 rent payment.

In 2008 the Poplar Place management team collected and delivered over 750 pieces to the Interfaith Council to benefit those in need during the holiday season. This year's goal is to meet and exceed 1,000 items. The food drive runs through November 22. On November 23 the Poplar Place management team will deliver the donated items to the Interfaith Council.
