RALEIGH, N.C. -

Veterans in Raleigh came together Saturday to remember an important day in American History.

At the Raleigh Elks Lodge people gathered for a Veterans History Day celebration in honor of the 67th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day.

That anniversary is Sunday, December 7.

Past Elks Lodge President Ed Flynn says it's an important day in history that American's can learn from.

"Our military was not prepared for it, nor were the people of the United States and it brought the ingenuity and expertise of Americans to the forefront, therefore, hopefully, we won't let that happen again," said Flynn.

Also at the Lodge Saturday, Veterans had the opportunity to record their military service history onto DVD which will be sent to the Congressional Library of Congress.
