Police have arrested a man responsible for a hit and run that killed Fort Bragg soldier in Fayetteville on Sunday.
Police arrested McCartha Hawkins, 60, and charged him with felony hit and run, misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to yield right of way.
Police say Victor Jose Sencion, 30, was driving his motorcycle when Hawkins turned in from of him at the intersection of Raeford Road and Revere Street. The impact of the Hawkins’ truck caused Sencion to be thrown from his motorcycle and then struck by the truck.
Police say Sencion died from his injuries.
Hawkins is being held at the Cumberland County Jail under a $5,000 bond.
