CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -
Police say Demario Atwater and Laurence Lovette killed Eve Carson last year. The documents say Atwater tortured Carson and prosecutors believed he killed her beacuse she could identify him in her kidnapping, carjacking and robbery. The filing also indicated that Carson was wounded by four small caliber gunshots prior to Atwater firing a single shot at close range through her hand and into her head. Atwater's federal trial is set to begin in next November.
