AVEDA INSTITUTE CHAPEL HILL RAISING $10,000 FOR BREAST CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION
Activities include October 7th Beauty for a Cure Event—Free Haircuts & Free Facials for a Cure
CHAPEL HILL—The Aveda Institute Chapel Hill is proud to join Aveda Corporation once again this year in perpetuating its mission of "caring for the world we live in" by honoring October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. During the month of October, the Aveda Institute Chapel Hill, a school of cosmetology and spa/skin care, hopes to raise $10,000 in donations to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Foundation is a nonprofit organization founded in 1993 by Evelyn Lauder and is the only national organization strictly dedicated to funding clinical and genetic research on breast cancer.
The Aveda Institute Chapel Hill will raise these donations during a variety of Breast Cancer Awareness student activities, including:
BEAUTY FOR A CURE EVENT—WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 7, 2009—FREE HARICUTS, MINI FACIALS, NECK AND SHOULDER MASSAGES, MAKEUP APPLICATIONS AND POLISH CHANGES
On Wednesday, October 7, from 9:30 am to 7 pm, the Aveda Institute Chapel Hill will provide complimentary haircuts, express facials, neck and shoulder massages, makeup applications and polish changes to raise money for breast cancer research. Patrick Thompson, Aveda Institute Chapel Hill's President, said, "the Event is sure to be a success. We hope to serve at least 500 guests on October 7th in raising donations for this important cause."
Guests interested in attending Aveda Institute's "Beauty for a Cure" Event may call 919.960.4769, x. 3 to schedule a FREE appointment. Appointments will be limited. Walk-ins will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Donations to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) will graciously be accepted during this Event. One hundred percent of the donations received will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
JEANS FOR A CURE
Students and team members at the Aveda Institute Chapel Hill will also be sponsoring a "Jeans for a Cure" program in which students and staff donate $5 to wear jeans every day during the month of October to raise money for breast cancer research. Donations and sponsorships for our students and team members for the Jeans for a Cure Program will be graciously accepted.
TIP FOR A CAUSE
Donations in lieu of tips for services at the Aveda Institute Chapel Hill will be accepted in any amount during the entire month of October to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. One hundred percent of the donations received will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
SPECIAL EDITION PINK-RIBBON HAND RELIEFä
Purchase a special-edition pink ribbon value-sized Hand Relief and Aveda Corporation will donate $4 from the sale of each special-edition Hand Relief to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The special-edition Hand Relief allows Aveda Institute guests an opportunity to support Breast Cancer Awareness by purchasing a favorite product.
AVEDA CORPORATION AND THE BREAST CANCER RESEARCH FOUNDATION
For more than 30 years, Aveda has been the manufacturer of pure plant-based hair care, skin care, Pure-Fumeä aromas and makeup products. As a participating brand in the Estee Lauder Companies breast cancer awareness campaign, all Breast Cancer Awareness donations from Aveda North America will be directed to a research project at Columbia University in New York. This research project explores the environmental causes and links to breast cancer, such as exposures to toxic chemicals and pollutants. Consistent with Aveda's policy to not test its products on animals, the breast cancer research project at Columbia University does not involve animal testing but rather studies breast cancer risks in human volunteers.

Aveda is a good all around brand. Used them many times. My current favorite is Russell Organics http://www.russellorganics.com I really like their organic body products. They have a great shower gel and body polish. 100% toxin free and Certified Cruelty Free and Certified Vegan.
