GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF EASTERN NORTH CAROLINA....The GCF Nature Center at Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina has produced a bumper crop of fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs which have all been donated to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. Totaling over 2,600 pounds, the fresh produce has helped many families in need in eastern North Carolina. At the same time, the program has served adults with disabilities who are proud of their philanthropy. They spend several hours, two days a week at the Nature Center where they help with the planting, nurturing and harvesting of the produce in the vegetable gardens and greenhouse. They also spend time nurturing flowers in the ornamental Memorial Garden.

Most recently the fall vegetables have ripened. Photos show nature center participants with recently harvested cabbage.
