DURHAM, N.C. -
Duke University Medical Center officials joined Governor Bev Perdue and local leaders for a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Cancer Center on Duke's flagship campus.
The Center will consolidate outpatient and inpatient cancer services as well as research facilities. Construction is already underway on the Cancer Center and a new surgery and critical care pavilion.
The total cost of the joint project is more than $700 million.
