A long forgotten tradition of students parading down Franklin Street before the annual Homecoming football game made a return to Chapel Hill, Saturday.
The parade was an effort spearheaded by UNC Student Body President Jasmin Jones. The homecoming parade was a popular event that stopped some 16-years ago.
The return of the homecoming parade could not have better timing. This year the event was even more special as Carolina takes on perpetual arch-rivals, the Duke Blue Devils! This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the famous Carolina football victory over Duke - 50 to 0!
The parade showcased the UNC Marching band, cheerleaders, Rameses, Chancellor Holden Thorp and Mayor Kevin Foy, Homecoming Royalty, The Heelraiser, and much more.
