Each year students from Neighborhood Academy of Music in Clayton perform a benefit recital the Sunday prior to Thanksgiving. This year the recital will benefit Backpack Buddies, which serves 100 children in Johnston County. Each week nutritious meals and snacks are provided through Backpack Buddies to help supplement the weekend away from school breakfast and lunch.

Student musicians from Neighborhood Academy will sing and play piano, guitars, drums, violins and saxophones. In addition, art by students of the art program of the Academy will be displayed in the foyer. In order to accommodate the number of students participating, two recitals are scheduled: 1:30—3:00 and 3:15—4:30. The recital will be held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Garner, located on Highway 50. The public is invited!
