RALEIGH, N.C. -

Severe storms are coming for the Carolinas, bringing high winds, hail and the potential for local flooding.

The National Weather Service warned Sunday of thunderstorms across North and South Carolina. Most of the activity will arrive in the afternoon and continue into the night as a cold front crosses the region. Forecasters the storms could be strong enough to produce hail the size of a quarter
