Nolan Smith of Duke and Derrick Favors of Georgia Tech captured the weekly honors in Atlantic Coast Conference men's basketball, while North Carolina's Cetera DeGraffenreid and Virginia's Simone Egwu earned the women's honor.
Smith was named player of the week after averaging 22 points, six assists and four rebounds as the seventh-ranked men's Blue Devils took victories over Charlotte and Radford.
On the week, Smith shot 56 percent from the field, including 60 percent from three-point range.
DeGraffenreid, led the fourth-ranked women's Tar Heels to a pair of victories last week against Coastal Carolina and UNLV. She scored 20 points against the Chanticleers, and added 22 points in the victory over the Rebels.
Favors earned the men's rookie of the week award. The 6-foot-10 freshman forward averaged 14 points and seven rebounds while shooting 81 percent to lead the Yellow Jackets to wins in two of three games in last week's tournament in Puerto Rico.
Egwu was named women's rookie of the week. In two home games, Egwu scored a career-high 19 points against visiting USC Upstate. She scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds in a game against Tennessee.
