Streets Closed Due To Flooding

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -

Some streets are expected to be closed this morning due to flooding, according to the Town of Chapel Hill. Streets include Franklin Street between Kenan and Mallette, South Estes at Willow, 15-501 at Estes, and Umstead at Bradley. Public works crews are putting up barricades at these locations.

Early Wednesday morning the National Weather Service issued an Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory has been issued for Cumberland, Harnett, Lee, Chatham, Wake, Durham, Orange, and Person counties until 10:00 a.m.

At 8:03 a.m., Doppler radar indicated heavy rain was falling from a line of showers and isolated thunderstorms. Locations threatened with flooding include Roxboro, Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Pittsboro, Sanford, Lillington and Fayetteville.
